New Builds
No build is too difficult for Wakatipu Contractors. Ground, slab, framing, cladding, full construction, including fencing and decking – Mike and his team will do it all – with a brand new digger to add to the toolbox. To ensure your home is completed to the high standard Wakatipu Contractors work to, Mike will organise the right outside contractors for any additional work needed on your job. Luckily, Mike has been in the business, and in Queenstown for over 20 years now, so Mike knows exactly who works to his standards; and on time.
Mike insists that the reason why 80% of his customers are repeat or from word of mouth, is due to Mike being the project manager of every job. This means clients can leave the whole job with their experienced and highly qualified builder. Mike maintains that he likes to be “on the ball with his clients projects”.
By making himself project manager, he eliminates the need for the client to find yet another contractor. Mike loves what he does, and this is why Wakatipu Contractors consistently produce successful builds for their clients.
Renovations

Eco-friendly & SIPs Builds
Wakatipu Contractors will build to your specification and needs. This includes eco-friendly builds such as SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) which can be cost effective, healthy, warm and environmentally friendly. Mike is open to your individual preferences regarding design and materials for your home. What We’ve Done
Shotover Country ~ New Family Home
Build from the ground up, the earthworks and foundations were taken care of by Wakatipu Contractors with massive polyblock retaining walls built on the lower level of the house.
Home Relocation ~ Gibbston Valley
This two-bedroom home was originally built in the 60's. We relocated it in 2015 from Lake Hayes to the current location in Gibbston Valley and rejigged the layout to include an additional bedroom and bathroom.
